TutorialHow to Export User Data in the IronHex Fitness App
Learn how to export your user data from the IronHex fitness app, including workouts, history, and preferences.
Exporting Your Data from IronHex
Your fitness data is yours. Whether you want a backup before switching phones, a
copy to analyze in a spreadsheet, or simply peace of mind that nothing is locked
away, IronHex lets you export everything you've logged — in just a few taps.
What You Can Export
When you open the My Data & Privacy screen, you'll see a list of categories you
- Profile — your name, gender, date of birth, and height.
- Routines — every custom workout routine you've built.
- Session history — every session you've completed, with their dates.
- Records — every set you've logged across all sessions.
- Programs — the training programs you're following and your progress in each.
- Preferences — your app settings and notification choices.
Each category is a checkbox, so you can pick and choose. By default everything is
selected — handy for a full backup — but if you only need, say, your records, you
can unselect the rest.
How to Export
- Open the app and head to Settings → My Data & Privacy.
- Review the list of categories. Tick or untick whatever you need.
- Tap Export Data.
- Wait a few seconds while the app gathers everything — you'll see a small
spinner. - Choose where to send the file: email it to yourself, save it to Files / Drive / Dropbox, or AirDrop it to another device.
That's it. The export comes out as a single file you can keep, share, or import into another tool.
What Format Is the File?
The export is a structured text file (JSON) — easy for other apps to read and small
enough to email yourself without trouble. If you only want to look at your
numbers, most spreadsheet apps will open it directly; otherwise it's ready for
whatever you want to do next.
A Quick Note on Privacy
The export only contains data tied to your IronHex account. It doesn't include anything about other users, and it isn't sent anywhere except where you tell it to go — the app generates the file on your device and hands it to whatever sharing app you pick.
When You Might Want to Export
A few common reasons people use this:
- Switching phones and wanting all your routines and history to come along.
- Sharing your progress with a coach or training partner.
- Keeping a personal backup so nothing is ever lost.
- Working with your data in a spreadsheet or another fitness tool.
If you ever need help with an export — or want a category that isn't there yet —
let us know. The export feature exists to give you full control of your
information, and we'll keep adding to it as the app grows.
