Combusto 1.6.0: blog images, an aside of its own, and an animated price

Blog posts can now carry a cover image, the blog gained the same sidebar as the rest of the site, the headline price animates in, and a handful of mobile usability fixes landed after real-world use of 1.5.0.

Combusto 1.6.0

Blog images and its own sidebar, an animated price, and several mobile usability fixes requested after using 1.5.0 for real.

New

  • The blog can now carry a cover image (coverImage, a new Studio Apps Manager field): it shows as a thumbnail on the blog index — now a two-column grid on desktop/tablet — and as a header image on each article.
  • The blog now gets the same sidebar as the rest of the site (communities, brands, most-searched towns): there was no real reason to leave it without that internal linking just because it has no "place" of its own the way a town or province page does. The "From the blog" block doesn't repeat there, since that would be redundant.
  • The highlighted price on the amber background (the town/province/community/brand headline figure, and the "cheapest in Spain today" figure in the sidebar) now does a small count-up animation on load instead of appearing all at once.
  • The town search box now lets you press Enter directly when only one result is left, without having to arrow down first.
  • The light/dark mode button is now always visible with its own background, not just on hover.

Fixes

  • The map recenter button was a different size than the +/- zoom buttons on mobile; they're now the same size.
  • Blocked pinch-zoom on the page on mobile (it conflicted with the map's own pan/zoom gestures; there's no small text that needs zooming in).
  • In the "cheapest" row (amber background) of the station table, the town link read poorly against that background; it now uses the same treatment as the "directions" link in that same row.

Technical

  • Blog index images were rendering with the wrong aspect ratio on mobile (a very tall, cropped look): the <img>'s HTML height="540" attribute was being applied as a literal CSS height, leaving aspect-ratio nothing to compute. Fixed by adding height: auto alongside aspect-ratio.
  • The whole site also gained Open Graph / Twitter Card tags (none existed before): they reuse coverImage as og:image on the blog and fall back to the site icon elsewhere.
  • 230 tests (222 in 1.5.0).
