Combusto 1.0.0: the first numbered release

Combusto 1.0.0 is the first numbered release. It gathers everything built so far, and the site has been live at combusto.app since 18 September 2026.

A note on the interface: Combusto is currently in Spanish. Labels are shown as they appear on screen, followed by their English meaning in parentheses.

What's in it

Prices for every petrol station in Spain. Diesel (Gasóleo A), Gasolina 95, Gasolina 98 and LPG (GLP) at more than 11,000 stations, from the open data of Spain's Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. The prices are updated every hour and show when they were last updated.
A page for every town and every province. There are around 3,200 town pages and 52 province pages. A town page shows the cheapest price, a table sorted by price with the distance to each station, a map of the area and a Cómo llegar (Get directions) link for every station. If several stations tie for the lowest price, all of them are marked as the cheapest.
Stations near you. On the home page, share your location and pick a radius of 5, 10, 25 or 50 km to see the cheapest stations around you. The search crosses province borders when your circle does.
Town search. A search box in the header of every page.
Remembered choices. Your selected fuel and your favourite towns are remembered in your browser. No accounts, no sign-up.
Privacy, cookies and contact pages. They explain that the error-report form belongs to Studio Apps (name and email are optional) and that your fuel, radius and favourites are stored only in your browser.

Fixes included in this release

Searching by location picked the wrong province in about 1 town in 8. In Llodio and Amurrio, for example, you saw Bizkaia and none of the stations in the town itself, and the stations on the other side of a province border were missed.
Barcelona, Valdemoro, Piélagos and Tui showed absurd distances ("58 km", "1,212 km") and a map centred on the sea, because four stations in the official data have impossible coordinates. They are now ignored when working out the town centre, and those stations are listed with their price but without a distance or a directions link.
On mobile, the results table ran off the right edge and caused horizontal scrolling. It now fits the screen, with the más barata (cheapest) tag moved under the price.
In Municipios cercanos (Nearby towns) there was a gap before each comma.
The footer had no side margin: on mobile its text touched the edges of the screen, and on desktop it was 16 px out of line with the content.
The privacy policy said favourites couldn't be saved, when they are saved in your browser. It has been corrected and expanded.
When several stations tied for the lowest price, only one was marked.
The header lost its breathing room when it wrapped onto two rows on mobile.

Behind the scenes

The site is static and the prices are refreshed every hour. Safeguards keep a failure of the Ministry's data from emptying the site: the response is validated, there is a minimum number of stations and pages, and if something fails the site is not updated.

Known limitations

Distances are in a straight line, not by road.
The map has a fixed zoom, so in very large towns some stations may fall outside the initial view.
